As we come to the end of another busy and productive week at St. Michael’s, I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your continued support.
This week, we have been reflecting on the theme of peace in our worship and across the school. We’ve encouraged the children to think about how they can be a peaceful presence in their friendships and classrooms, even during busy or challenging moments. The Bible verse we’ve shared with them is:
“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” Colossians 3:15
We are incredibly proud of our Year 6 pupils, who completed their SATs this week. They approached the assessments with maturity and confidence, and we are grateful to the Year 6 team for all their hard work in preparing the children so well. It was lovely to see the children come out of each test with a sense of achievement and resilience.
At the end of today's worship, we launched our much-anticipated gunging competition! Over the next month, Miss Guinness (1G) and Miss Hotten (6H) wil be going head-to-head to see who will face the gunging, all in the name of fun and fundraising! Children can vote by bringing in cash donations and adding them to their chosen teacher's bucket, or parents can donate via ParentMail. All funds raise will go towards the final total from the PTA Summer fete - thank you for your support!
Looking ahead to next week, our final week before the half-term break, we have a number of exciting trips and activities taking place:
Monday – Year 4/5 pupils will be representing the school at a football tournament.
Wednesday and Thursday – Year 3 will be visiting a Hindu temple as part of their RE learning.
Thursday – Year 1 will be visiting the Westminster Synagogue, continuing their exploration of different faiths.
We are looking forward to seeing many of you on Friday for our joint Reading For Pleasure (RFP) session which will begin at 2:45pm.
A Polite Reminder
We kindly ask parents to ensure children are supervised during morning drop-off and afternoon pick-up. With so many people moving through the playgrounds and gates at these times, it’s important that:
Scooters and bikes are walked, not ridden, through the playground.
Balls of any type are not used during these busy periods.
Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe and ensure a calm, orderly start and end to the school day.
As always, thank you for being part of our St. Michael’s community. Your ongoing support helps create a calm, caring environment where our children can grow and thrive.
Wishing you a restful and peaceful weekend.

Please also notify us of any changes if your child has taken up a new offer now that waiting lists are moving.
This is vital for us to ensure that your child's school records are sent on to the correct establishment.
On Friday 9th May, Year 2 had an exciting trip to the Natural History Museum, where they explored fascinating exhibitions including the
incredible dinosaurs and the awe-inspiring mammals gallery.
The highlight for many was the Mini Beast Adventure, where students
searched through the museum’s garden, identifying and classifying
different insects as young explorers.

The following Monday, 12th May, Year 2 visited the local mosque.
The students had the opportunity to speak with the Imam, who warmly

discovery for everyone involved!

Year 4 Gurdwara Trip:
On Tuesday, Year 4 enjoyed a trip to our local Gurdwara to support our learning about Sikh values.
We were greeted and taught about the origins of the Sikh faith, finding out that the word Sikh means 'learner' and Gurdwara means 'school'.
We removed our shoes and covered our heads to enter the prayer room and found out about how Sikhs worship in the Gurdwara and how they show respect to their holy book, the Guru Granth Sahib.
Everyone sat on the floor to demonstrate the Sikh values of equality and humility, and we found out that even if the King were to visit, he would sit on the floor too!
We then were treated to some juice and biscuits, showing the Sikh value of service.
We are very grateful to the Gurdwara for being so welcoming and really bringing our RE learning to life!

Next Week's Theme from the fruit of the spirit is:
Patience
Our spiritual question that links to this theme is:
How can we trust in God's timing when we feel impatient?
Lord, grant me patience for today to navigate any challenges I encounter.
With You by my side, nothing is impossible.
I pray for Your Holy Spirit to fill me with grace and patience, so I may end the day with my head held high.
I entrust all to You, Lord. Amen.
