We politely remind you once again that dogs need to be kept away from the school entrances please and owners should avoid standing on the narrow pavements directly outside the school on Granville Road because we have children who are nervous to pass them when they come in and out of school.

As part of our History learning about the Normans, Year 4 braved the rain for a trip to the Tower of London (a Norman castle) last Friday.
As part of our History learning about the Normans, Year 4 braved the rain for a trip to the Tower of London (a Norman castle) last Friday.
Despite an unfortunately dramatic start to the day, the children were impeccably behaved and enjoyed the trip.

We arrived and toured around the fortress, exploring the older Norman aspects and recognising where more recent additions had been made.

Inside the keep, we were taken back in time to see medieval armour, weapons and even a Norman toilet, called a garderobe!

Eventually the rain subsided and we were able to walk along the battlements, seeing where there used to be a zoo with animals from all over the world, including a polar bear who fished in the Thames!

We also looked at the Crown Jewels, which have expanded since the Norman times but were very impressive.

4S were lucky enough to catch part of a show on the green, which they thoroughly appreciated.

Overall, it was a lovely day and the children were a true credit to the school and parents.

"At the weekend I was involved in an art exhibition with a few other people. My best artworks were displayed on the walls.

Yesterday we were delighted to welcome author Abi Elphinstone to St Michael’s. Abi came to tell us about "Ember Spark and the Thunder of Dragons", the first title in her exciting new series of books set on the East coast of Scotland.

We were very priviliged to be invited to play at AFC Wimbledon's Cherry Red Records Stadium on Plough Lane. Our Year 4 and 5 children had a great time at the festival playing some amazing football.

There was a large white tent in the centre of the gardens and a wide range of food and drinks that were available throughout the event. The archbishop of Canterbury began to talk about his first interaction with God and his journey as a Christian.
