It has been lovely to see so many parents taking part in school life this week.
I was delighted to see so many parents attend our whole school coffee morning on Monday morning and I do hope you found it helpful.
There was another good turnout on Tuesday for the very popular 'Let Girls Play' initiative on the field at 3:30pm. Photos below! I know Mr Rochford has another one planned when the weather is kinder too.
And then of course we had parents evenings on both Wednesday and Thursday which, as ever, were a wonderful opportunity for not only interaction with your child's teacher but also a chance to see their work and their classroom environment.
A special thank you to my Lead Ambassadors for giving up their evenings to meet and greet our parent visitors.
On Wednesday a fabulous French Workshop took place in school for Years 4 and 5 and there is a brief write up further down this web update.
Next Week:
On Monday evening we are holding an Internet Safety Workshop for parents at 6:30pm in the Hall. I urge you to come along and support this vital safeguarding matter.
And on Thursday morning we look forward to welcoming our Year 2 parents to a special whole school assembly on the theme of the Titanic, which they are currently learning about in their History lessons.
Friday is Red Nose Day! Children and staff can come in all things red on their top half (including hair!) and school uniform on their lower half please.
(Please be reminded of the £3 requested donation via parentmail for taking part in this and for World Book Day and the upcoming Disco. All Lent funds are going toward Winston's Wish as selected by the children themselves....)
Also on Friday morning there is a talk for Year 6 parents at 8:30am in the school hall on what to expect with the upcoming SATS.
Finally, thank you to all those who have been generously donating to Wandsworth Food Bank as part of our Lent Appeal 2023. Please do keep them coming - every single item helps.
Wishing you a great weekend

Industrial Action:
School will have restricted opening on both Wednesday and Thursday this week. Letters have been sent to all classes stating if they are in or out.
Once again I ask you to respect these actions and are mindful of making comments that could be seen as defamatory against staff.
Thank you.
Considerate Drop Off and Collection:
Once again we are receiving complaints (and in some cases photographs) from our neighbours regarding dangerous parking around the area at pick up and drop off.
Please do not park across driveways, pathways, on corners and/or zig zags or yellow lines and please be considerate for the safety of the children at our school.
Thank you.

News and Notices:
Let Girls Play:
Years 4 & 5 French Workshop:
Le mercredi, Year 4 and 5 enjoyed a fun, energetic and interactive storytelling workshop entirely in French. A lovely lady called Martina from Freshwater Theatre Company entertained us with the stories of Le Petit Chaperon Rouge (Little Red Riding Hood) and Jacques et Les Haricots Magiques (Jack and the Beanstalk), wonderfully playing the accordion to engage us all with songs and involving us with actions, props and costumes.
The children really impressed her with their vocabulary knowledge and pronunciation as well as their acting skills!
Afterwards the children said how much they had enjoyed the performance, commenting that they found it easy to follow and were excited to be able to use so many of the French phrases we have been learning in lessons.
We agreed that repetition and clear, expressive body gestures are important when learning to understand and speak a foreign language.
The complete immersion experience was very valuable.
As all parents know, they are able to make an appointment with the class teacher and/or SENCO to discuss concerns they have about their child's learning and development.
In addition to this The Inclusion Team would like to offer parents quick, drop-in opportunities where they can ask Mrs Harris (Deputy Headteacher, SENCo and Mental Health Lead) questions they have about their child.
These sessions started on Tuesday 13th September 2022 at 8:30-9am and run each week. If you wish to attend please come to reception after drop off.
At the moment these sessions will be run on a first come first served basis, so there may be a queue.
If necessary we may move to a sign up or booking system but we wanted to see how many parents needed these sessions and how well they are attended.
Kind regards
The Inclusion Team
Reflection and Prayers :
The Fruits of the Spirit:
Next week's Gospel Value is:
Gentleness:
Lord, in this world that values power over gentleness, and influence over meekness, I struggle to even want to be gentle.
It makes me feel weak.
But You, Jesus, were gentle, and You call us to be gentle; so renew my mind.
Help me to think Your thoughts and to reflect Your kind and tender heart toward all.
In Your Name
Amen
Father God, help me be a more gentle person today. Let me follow the Spirit’s leading. Let me show grace and love to those I encounter.
May they sense the gentleness in my heart, soul, and mind. Help me do this in Your strength, not my own.
If there is any good found in me, may You get all the glory because You are the source of that goodness.
Help me reflect a gentleness throughout all my dealings in this world today.
... and finally....
with our Lent Appeal focusing on Courageous Advocates here is another one:
a Year 5 pupil who helped the Inclusion team translate these toy sheets for younger children
Another notable act of kindness number is from these two siblings who gifted some stunning flowers to the office team for us to enjoy this week. Aren't they fabulous?!
