We are now at the end of the second week of this half term, where our focus in worship has been on the Fruit of the Spirit: Goodness. We began this theme with a special service in church, reflecting on how we are called to show goodness not only in our actions but also in the way we treat one another with compassion according to our vision.
Our Year 1 children have now completed their phonics screening, well done to them for trying their very best. NFER assessments are well underway for Years 1, 3, 4, and 5. It’s always encouraging to see the children rising to the challenge with such focus and resilience.
Meanwhile, Year 6 have begun rehearsals for their end-of-year production, and it’s already shaping up to be a brilliant performance—there’s plenty of energy, talent, and enthusiasm!
Next week in worship we turn our attention to Faithfulness, another Fruit of the Spirit. We will be reflecting on this message from Lamentations 3:22–23:
“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for his compassions never fail. They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.”
This verse reminds us that just as God is faithful to us, we too are called to be loyal, dependable, and true in our relationships with God, with one another and with ourselves.
The Summer Fete is fast approaching so please see below how you can get involved and take part in what is always a highlight of the school year!
A quick reminder that Wednesday 18th June is Thank a Teacher Day—a national opportunity to show appreciation to all the incredible teachers and support staff who work so hard to ensure our children flourish. A kind word, a card, or a simple thank you can go a long way to brighten someone’s day.
Finally, please may I take this opportunity to kindly remind all parents and carers of the parking restrictions around school. It is so important that we all model respectful and safe behaviours to our children. We have had a number of concerns raised about cars blocking our neighbours’ driveways during drop-off and pick-up. Please avoid doing this and help us to maintain positive relationships with our local community. Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

PTA Summer Fete 2025!
Saturday 21st June: 12 noon - 4pm
Volunteers:
There are still a few slots to fill on the day and there may need to be some moving around to make the day happen.
Most importantly, more people are needed to help on Friday 20 June.
Pre-order of token and wristbands - Due to work commitments the PTA are having to close this earlier than planned. This is to allow us to package up and send home in school bags.
You have until 9:45pm on Saturday 14 June to pre-order at the following LINK
If you miss it, please don’t worry as we will have tokens and wristbands available for purchase on the day.
All donations of clothes, books, toys and bric-a-brac can be delivered to the field on Friday 20 June to save it all having to be stored elsewhere.
Weekly News and Notices:
We had a wonderful time exploring Hampton Court Palace with the children!
We discovered how grand feasts were prepared in the Great Kitchens, got a feel for life in Tudor times at the Tudor World exhibits, and admired the splendour of Henry VIII’s Apartments.
The children also enjoyed some quiet reflection in the Royal Chapel before ending the day with a fun challenge to find the centre of the famous Tudor Maze. A huge thank you to our Year 5 parent volunteers for joining us and helping make the trip such a success.
Year 5 are now looking forward to their next adventure, visiting St Cecilia’s to learn all about gears and pulleys in science!
