As we wrap up another week, we’re reflecting on the many meaningful moments we’ve shared as a school community.
We began the week with a touching Remembrance Service at the church, led by the SAS, honouring the sacrifices of military families and reminding us of the challenges they bravely face. Our pupils showed incredible respect and compassion, standing together in solidarity with our military children and their families. It was a moving experience that highlighted our commitment to empathy and community.
Throughout the week, the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), along with our Lower and Middle Phase teachers, had the pleasure of connecting with many of you at our coffee afternoons. These sessions gave us a valuable opportunity to discuss our 4-year strategy and introduce the beginnings of our renewed vision for the school. Thank you to everyone who joined us—we truly value your input and partnership in shaping the future of our school.
We were pleased to see a selection of parents at our E-Safety evening session. PC Mick shared tips and advice, and we hope you found his guidance informative. In response to recent discussions and feedback, we’ve updated our mobile phone policy to reflect the latest recommendations. You can view this revised policy on our website under Our School> School Policies and Information>Non-Statutory Policies.
We have some exciting activities planned for next week!
•Reception Trip to Wandsworth Fire Station: Pupils will be visiting the fire station, where they’ll get an up-close look at the important work of our local firefighters.
•Marketing Photos on Tuesday: A photographer will be on-site to capture some photos around the school, including in the playground at drop-off and pick-up times. Please be aware that you may appear in these photos.
•Year 5 Trip to Kew Gardens: Year 5 will be exploring the wonders of nature at Kew Gardens, a fantastic opportunity to expand their learning about plants, ecosystems, and conservation.
•Year 2 Trip to Wimbledon Common: Year 2 pupils will enjoy a day of outdoor learning at Wimbledon Common, discovering the local flora and fauna.
•Grandparents Visiting Year 1: A selection of our wonderful grandparents will be joining Year 1 pupils to spend time together, creating cherished memories and connections.
Next week, we’ll focus on the theme of Trust as a school. Trust is a foundation in our relationships, both with each other and with God. We’ll explore how trust empowers us to feel secure and connected, even in times of uncertainty.
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” — Proverbs 3:5-6
This verse reminds us that trust is not always about having all the answers ourselves but about finding peace in knowing we are guided and supported. As we reflect on this theme, we encourage pupils to think about the trust they place in their friends, family, and school community. We’ll also discuss ways we can build trust through honesty, dependability, and faith.
Thank you for your continued support and involvement. We’re grateful for each of you and look forward to building on this week’s events as we move forward together.
Wishing you a restful weekend!
