As we reach the end of another week, we have been reflecting on the value of service. It has been wonderful to see our students and staff embodying this principle in various ways throughout the week.
Our festive celebrations have also continued, with highlights including a delightful Christmas dinner, our Chamber Choir performance at St Mark's in Regents Park, Nursery Performance singing carols to their parents, Year 3 Lets Rock concert, Street Dance Performances and the PTA Christmas Fair.
A huge thank you to Ollie Thornton-Flowers and the Parent Team for all your hard work in organising such a fantastic PTA Christmas Fair! The children had an incredible time enjoying the wonderful activities you put together, from snowball fights and Santa’s sleigh run to the exciting target games and the endless array of treats in the hall, playground and Year 6 areas. Also a huge thank you goes out to Father Christmas who made two appearances today along with his helpful elves and coordinator. Your efforts created a truly magical experience for everyone—thank you for making it so special!
We are delighted to announce that Elaine Fullerton has been elected as our new Parent Governor, following your votes. We look forward to the valuable insights and perspectives she will bring to the governing board. Elaine will be succeeding Victoria Mance, and we would like to take this opportunity to sincerely thank Victoria for her dedication and the significant contributions she has made to the school during her time on the board.
Looking ahead to next week, we are excited to explore the true meaning of Christmas. Our clergy team will be joining us to begin the week with thoughtful reflection and celebration. We warmly invite all parents and family members to our end-of-term church service on Tuesday at 9:30am, where our Year 2s will be presenting Christingle – a special moment in our calendar.
Additionally, the children will enjoy Christmas shows on Monday and Tuesday, the Jam are performing to parents after school on Monday, class Christmas parties on Thursday afternoon along with Pop Choir's performance to parents at 3:45, and a joyful House morning to close the week on Friday. Please note that our final mufti day is on Friday and school will finish at 2:00pm. There is no wrap around care on this day.
As we prepare for the Christmas season, we are reminded of the words from Luke 2:10-11:
“But the angel said to them, ‘Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord.’”
May we carry this message of joy, hope, and peace into the final week of term and the festive season beyond.
Wishing you a restful weekend.
