We are well and truly into the new term now and it's been a particularly busy week, both in school and out on trips.
As you know, Mrs Vanotti has been in to take the individual and sibling photos all this week and there is information to follow on how to order these in time for Christmas.
Years 4 and 5 took part in a Buddhist Workshop in school on Monday, then on Tuesday Year 2 spent the day at Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Club. Also, Year 5 spent a morning at Saint Cecilia's for a literary workshop with bestselling author Vicky Holmes.
Later in the week the Year 6 pupils who were registered took part in the Wandsworth Test here in school and as I write, Year 5 are enjoying a day at the National Gallery.
With all these trips and outings our pupils' behaviour has been exemplary and as always, they have done us all proud in their representing of St Michael's when out and about.
Next Week:
The Police are coming in on Tuesday to speak to the Reception children!
On Wednesday we look forward to welcoming Heather from Southfields Library to present the more than 90 certificates from the Summer Reading Challenge.
Also, we wish the best of luck to those pupils taking part in the Cross Country race mid week.
On Thursday morning the school nurse will be in to administer flu nasal spray to all children from Reception to Year 6 who has completed the e-form, excluding anyone who has opted out. See below.
On Thursday afternoon we will be hosting a special coffee afternoon and food tasting from Edwards and Ward for our Nursery and Reception parents. Numbers to be in today please so that the kitchen can order the appropriate amount of food.
Finally, we wish good luck to those pupils in Years 3 and 4 representing St Michael's at the Netball Festival on Friday afternoon.
Best wishes for the weekend.

All the children wrote 'thank you' letters to Her Majesty The Queen last week. Here are just some of the lovely words Middle Phase pupils used to convey their gratitude to an amazing lady:

As all parents know, they are able to make an appointment with the class teacher and/or SENCO to discuss concerns they have about their child's learning and development.
In addition to this The Inclusion Team would like to offer parents quick, drop-in opportunities where they can ask Mrs Harris (Deputy Headteacher, SENCo and Mental Health Lead) questions they have about their child.
These sessions will start on Tuesday 13th September 2022 at 8:30-9am and run each week. If you wish to attend please come to reception after drop off.
At the moment these sessions will be run on a first come first served basis, so there may be a queue.
If necessary we may move to a sign up or booking system but we wanted to see how many parents needed these sessions and how well they are attended.
Kind regards
The Inclusion Team

Reflection and Prayers :
Humility
Disturb us, Lord, when
We are too well pleased with ourselves,
When our dreams have come true
Because we have dreamed too little,
When we arrived safely
Because we sailed too close to the shore.
Disturb us, Lord, when
With the abundance of things we possess
We have lost our thirst
For the waters of life;
Having fallen in love with life,
We have ceased to dream of eternity
And in our efforts to build a new earth,
We have allowed our vision
Of the new Heaven to dim.
Disturb us, Lord, to dare more boldly,
To venture on wider seas
Where storms will show your mastery;
Where losing sight of land,
We shall find the stars.
We ask You to push back
The horizons of our hopes;
And to push into the future
In strength, courage, hope, and love.
- Attributed to Sir Francis Drake, c. 1577
From the fear of being humiliated, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of being despised, Deliver me, Jesus.
From the fear of suffering rebukes, Deliver me, Jesus.
That others may be loved more than I, Jesus, grant me the grace to desire it.
Dear Lord, may we never be ashamed to praise your name.
It is easy to rejoice when life is going well, but we quickly turn away and grumble when challenges arise.
Help us to give thanks in all circumstances.
Help us live humble, grateful lives.
Today, Lord, help us remember your goodness toward us. In your name we pray,
Amen.
Our PTA:
We hope everyone has had a great week and are feeling just a tiny bit relieved that the pressure of perfect hair and uniform for photos is now over!! Thanks to our amazing Alex who has taken the photos, what incredible patience you must have!
