On Monday I launched our Lent 2022 Appeal in a special assembly and at the same time I also spoke to all the children at an age appropriate level about what is happening in the Ukraine, making sure it was talked about in the context of us being a community and a family and from the stance that we need to continue to pray for peace and to support all those suffering at the moment.

We also celebrated the different cultures and heritages in our school of which we can all be so proud.

Also, you will know that a line in our school prayer is 'please bring peace to the world and our school community' and never has this been more relevant.

The children have also written their own prayers off their own back - see below - which is clearly an indication of how thoughtful and caring our pupils are about people of all nationalities, without judgement.

On Tuesday we marked Safer Internet Day with a series of in class workshops.

We also welcomed on that day Ann Debonno (the Local Authority Advisor) who came in to see our wonderful EYFS in action and to offer any advice and guidance. She was very impressed with everything she saw and we were proud to host her.

As well as World Book Day - see a selection of the fabulous outfits below! - it is also Book Sale and RFP Day and as I write, the school is alive with the sight of parents and carers sitting poring over a book in every nook and cranny. What a great way to welcome you all back into the building at last while we share the joy of reading together!

Week 2 of our Lent 2022 programme is focusing on the Wandworth Food Bank and you will have received in a Parentmail a list of what we would love each year group to donate if possible please. (If Nursery parents could please bring in any tinned fruit or vegetables in the same way that Reception is we would be extremely grateful.)

On Thursday morning Year 3 will be leading the assembly to the whole school and to their parents on the theme of 'Art Exhibition'. This will be especially relevant as we prepare for all our celebrations surrounding Her Majesty's Platinum Jubilee celebrations later in the summer, including a special Art Exhibition.

We have had a wonderful start to Lent.

We enjoyed pancakes with our school dinner on Tuesday and started on our 40 Days of Kindness on Ash Wednesday.

All of the children have been given a 40 Acts of Kindness chart -please put this on your fridge or somewhere in the house where the whole family can see it.

In January 2022, as part of a review and reflection on the term ‘special educational needs’ we invited all parents from the school to complete a short survey which included questions about a potential name change and how Inclusion communicates with parents.
