Dear Parents and Carers

This week our Reception pupils were brilliant little helpers (Courageous Advocates) when they went to clean up the church on Tuesday morning. There was some super dusting and polishing going on, so well done and thank you Red and Green Class children!

On Wednesday we held our Q & A (virtual) Coffee Afternoon for Nursery and Reception parents and I do hope you found this useful. We will be doing the same for our Lower Phase parents next Wednesday so do please send in your questions via the school office in advance of the session if possible.

In the meantime, Year 4 have started practising their lines for their Year Group assembly to parents, scheduled for Thursday 4th February.

Finally, although the national Covid 19 Plan B restrictions are easing from next week (a more detailed Parentmail update is to follow) we still ask you to remain vigilant and considerate to others when you are in the school playground, as there are still those in our midst who need to continue taking extra measures to protect themselves.

Latest Guidance In Brief:

From Monday 24th January it is no longer mandatory to wear face coverings in schools, but we at St Michael's still request that any visitors to school continue to wear a mask when walking around the building.

We also ask that on school property you continue to respect other people's space and their need to protect themselves as necessary.

If your child tests positive on an LFT (or PCR) it remains mandatory to isolate for five days (and only to come out of quarantine when testing negative on the fifth and sixth days).

We request that you send us negative test proof from the NHS before your child leaves quarantine and returns to school. We need this to keep our records up to date and also to report our daily case numbers to the Department for Education.

Thank you as always for your support and assistance in keeping our school community as safe as possible.

Ahh the smell and taste of lovely treats followed by a sugar rush is always a sign of a good PTA cake sale! Thank you to our year 6 and Mini St Mikes families who supplied the goodies and manned the tables today. For some this was your first cake sale and others your last after many years of baking and donating, and we really appreciate everyone's effort and contributions.

Our school disco tickets are selling nearly as fast as the cakes and we are so excited to be welcoming so many of you on the 5th. If you haven't had the chance to buy, there is still time and the link is:

We are also still looking for volunteers particularly for the year 4-6 disco. Please if you can, sign up via the sheet circulated on Sunday night as we need your help!

Next Friday, we'll be in the church cafe after drop off for around 45 minutes. Do come and talk to us if you have any questions, need any information or have any feedback. We are also starting to think of the committee for the 2022/23 academic year so please, if you are thinking of volunteering, do let us know. There are lots of ways to be involved and we will happily chat through the various committee roles.
