We have been exploring the Gospel Value of Hope this week and welcomed back the clergy team for our whole school worship on Monday. Children have continued to use these teachings in their behaviour and learnt how hope can reflect through everything.
…but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31
We welcomed our first set of prospective nursery and reception parents this week and our new lead ambassadors proudly walked them around the school to show them what wonderful learning has already been happening.
I am aware that recent changes to our wrap around care system have created some teething issues but we all hope that these are being ironed out to create a nice smooth process. Please remember that wrap around is on offer from 7:45am to 6pm every school day. Our managers have been planning some wonderful activities and have full access to the school hall and MUGA areas. Breakfast is served before 8:15 and a light snack during after school club is after 4:15pm. We have increased the numbers of staff and therefore our capacity for the number of children has increased - we do have spaces available - please see our website for more information -Link .
There has been some excellent learning happening this week and I have been involved with Reception finger printing, seeing some wonderful RE reflections on the lost sheep in Year 1, learnt about different levels used in gymnastics with Year 3 and observed Year 6 sketching their interpretation of a painting using the Cubism approach.
Next week Year 5 are going to Saint Cecilia's to meet an author, our reception children will be having vision screening and some of our Year 6 children will be sitting the Wandsworth Test so we will keep them in our thoughts and prayers.
The children have been preparing a lovely gift for Steve, our vicar, to help him on his road to recovery - they have been thinking of positive things to say to him and have put them into a carousel of 'thoughts of the day'. These will be delivered to the church and sent on to Steve with our best wishes.
Here's hoping for a sunny weekend.
