Welcome Back and Happy New Year!
We hope you all had a restful and joyful holiday season. It has been wonderful to see the children return, settling back into their class routines so positively.
As we begin the Spring Term, we have been focusing on our Mission Statement:
“St. Michael’s Church of England School, established upon Christian foundations and living out the Christian faith, is committed to providing every child with an excellent education.”
During our worship sessions, we have explored how the Christian faith underpins everything we do. We have reflected on the unique talents we all have and how we can let our lights shine throughout the school day, inspired by Colossians 3:23:
“Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord.”
Today, we were delighted to celebrate examples of pupils living out our mission through their actions this week.
Next week we will be revisiting our motto 'working together for the good of all' as the theme for our worship and the pupil faith group will be helping me to introduce this to the children in our Monday whole school worship.
PTA Meeting: The PTA will be meeting on Tuesday evening – all parents are welcome to attend.
Year 5 will visit the British Museum on Thursday, supporting their history curriculum.
Year 4 will explore the Science Museum on Friday, enriching their learning in science.
We look forward to an exciting week ahead.
Please have a restful and refreshing weekend.
Happy new year from the School Governors
Dear Parents, Carers, Staff and the wider school community
We hope that you enjoyed a peaceful break over Christmas and New Year and begin the new year with renewed enthusiasm and inspiration.
2 Corinthians 5:17 - Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.
At the end of last term we held a parent governor election and are pleased to have welcomed Elaine Fullerton to the board. We would like to thank Victoria Mance, outgoing parent governor, for her hard work and commitment to the school and the board over the past four years. Often the work of governors is not too visible but Victoria worked tirelessly on a number of important projects and we are very grateful for her time and expertise.
We are very proud to be associated with the school’s new vision and grateful to the whole school community for their suggestions and input.
Vision: We serve our community through the values of humility, gentleness, and compassion, where every child can flourish academically, personally, and spiritually, guided by the wisdom and love of God.
The governors’ role now is to work with the Head and school to make this vision a reality as we head into 2025, ensuring that the school values Love, Serve, and Grow are evident through real-life applications such as collaborative group work, reflection, and community projects. We look forward to working with you all on this vision in the coming months and years.
Wishing you all health and happiness in 2025.

Please help me to relax and enjoy each day
Please bring new friendships into my life
Please bring new possibilities for me to learn and grow
Please help me to pray in my heart to you if ever I am anxious
