Definition

• Ergot derivatives
• Postpartum uterine atony 방지를 위하여 Oxytocin을 주고난 후에도 Postpartum hemorrhage가 해결되지 않는 경우 Methylergonovine을 사용할 수 있다.
• Intense, prolonged uterine contraction을 일으키므로, delivery이후에만 쓰인다.

Dose

• IM : 0.2 mg (IM route가 HBP일으킬 가능성이 더 낮다.)
• IV side : dilute form으로 10min 이상 시간에 걸쳐 주입.

Side effects

nausea, hypertension (systemic and pulmonary/ IV bolus로 주는경우/ By vascular smooth muscle을 수축), coronary artery spasm

In patients with preeclampsia, cardiac disease, connective tissue disorder,
