Dose

성인 IV Bolus 2.5-10mg

소아 IV Bolus 0.1mg/kg

Effect

• increase in BP
• increase in HR
• increase in contractility
• increase C.O
• bronchodilator : longer duration of action, much less potent, stimulates the CNS(raises MAC) than ephinephrine
• preferred vasopressor for most obstetric uses d/t not decrease uterine blood flow.
  • 최근 부위마취 산과환자에서 phenylephrine 의 효용성이 높다는 의견이 있음
    • 이유 : faster onset, shorter duration of action, bette titratability, maintenance of fetal pH
• 연속적인 ephedrine의 투여는 tachyphylaxis를 상쇄시킬 수 있음.
