Definition

• acts as competitive antagonists at the a1- and B-adrenegic receptor

Treatment

• usual oral dose : 200 to 400 mg twice daily
• IV bolus : 5분마다 5~10mg 준다 ( 0.1mg/kg )
• IV infusion : 보통 2mg/min부터 시작해서 titration 한다
• elimination half life : 약 6시간

Iindication

• aortic disection, hypertensive emergeny, postoperative cardiac surgical patients 에 특히 효과적이다
• 임산부의 고혈압 치료에 쓸 수 있다 ( long term basis 또는 urgent situation 일 때) : 자궁 혈류에 영향을 주지 않는다.
