Principal's Update

Dear Colleagues,

Thank you for working as a team to complete the marking exercise for the end-of-year exams. I especially

want to thank those of you who went the extra mile to help with the marking beyond what was assigned. I also want to share that the staff room is finally near completion. If all goes well, we plan for you to move in on Friday afternoon and/or Tuesday afternoon. We will brief you on the details when we meet on Wednesday.

Humility is not an often discussed virtue, but it is a fundamental disposition to having integrity because it helps us embrace the truth that others are better than ourselves and that helps us to open our minds and listen to what others are saying, which enables us to make things better. As we close the year, let us also reflect on our quote of the week by helping our boys to recognise the importance of being humble.

No one reaches the kingdom of Heaven except by humility.

– Saint Augustine

Being Vigilant to Possible Security Threats

By:    School Safety

Relevant Levels:   All

Date and Time of Event: -

Information Details:

Dear all,

Be vigilant to possible security threats, in view of the situation in Israel and the Gaza Strip, and numerous incidents of violence reported in other countries. For instance, an Israeli staff from the Israeli Embassy in Beijing was stabbed in front of a supermarket and a teacher was fatally stabbed by a Chechen individual in France. Some indicators of possible security threats include articles (items) , human behaviours and vehicles.

If you detect a potential security threat, report the incident to the Police by calling “999” immediately or SMS 71999 (if it is unsafe to talk).

If you are caught up in an attack, adopt the Run-Hide-Tell advisory.

You are also reminded not to speculate or spread rumours, such as by posting or sharing unverified videos or photos, to avoid causing unwarranted panic or disharmony. Obtain the latest information and advisories from official sources and share them with their family, friends, and neighbours.

Do refer to the attached SGSecure and Police advisories for more details.

All of us have a role to play in keeping one another safe from harm.

Thank you!

Dear all,

The Term 4 Issue of Kindsville Times and A-OK Newsletters will be placed on the teachers' table in your classroom by Monday, 6 Nov.

As we approach the end of the term, who are the people who have made your 2023 a good one? As we ponder about this, it is also timely to remind our pupils to show thanks and appreciation to the people who have made their 2023 a memorable one.

You may like to use the FTGP time on Monday, 6 Nov to engage your pupils in writing a "Thank You " card (page 3 & 4) to this person. Take the time to let them share who they are thankful for and why. There are stickers in the booklet which they can use to decorate it. Please encourage them to tear along the perforated line and present the "Thank You" card to the recipient after completion.

A teachers' copy will be given and placed in your pigeon hole. You may also wish to pen down a "Thank You" card for someone whom you would like to appreciate.
