Principal's Update

Dear Colleagues,

I want to thank all our staff who worked on the Founder's Day and Prize-Giving Day. For those who were not present at the various locations during the celebrations, you can catch up at our school's Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/sonsofststephens

I forgot to mention last week that Mr Edwin Heng also received his promotion on 1 April 2022. I hope that you'll take the time to congratulate our promotees to encourage them in their vocation as an educator, especially those we usually do not interact with. This is a little thing that each one of us can do to build up a positive staff culture.

I hope you had a chance to reflect on the sharing I gave on regulating ourselves and the tone of our voice: Calm, Neutral, Assertive. (https://www.edutopia.org/video/demonstrating-self-regulation-tone-voice) There are also lots of other short clips that you will find very useful in your teaching.

Following the theme for this year: To Dream is our Way Forward, I hope that you too will have the opportunity to reflect on your dreams, especially for our students and our school. For me, I dream of a school where each of us come to work happy with a sense of purpose, where staff have a strong and trusting relationship, accept that each one of us is different but of great value, where we freely share our thoughts and insights without fear but with great love for the work we do, and going the extra mile to help our boys and each other grow to their fullest potential. So, what are your dreams?

Maundy Thursday

By: CCE - Catechism and Lasallian Celebrations

Relevant Levels: P1 to P6

Date of Event/Programme/Item: 14 April 2022

Deadline to Note: -

Information Details: Dear teachers,

Maundy Thursday or Holy Thursday is the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ when he established the sacrament of Holy Communion prior to his arrest and crucifixion. The holy day falls on the Thursday before Easter and is part of Holy Week. Jesus celebrated the dinner as a Passover feast and would fulfill His role as the Christian victim of the Passover for all to be saved by His final sacrifice.

We will be having a Maundy Thursday paraliturgy on 14 April 2022 after morning assembly and it will end by 0800. Just as Jesus washed the feet of his disciples, we will be having washing of feet to remind the boys of Christ's boundless love and that we are called to love and serve one another.

Student iCON onboarding for P5 and P6

By: Murni Masuath

Relevant Levels: P5 and P6

Date of Event/Programme/Item: 11 April to 14 April

Deadline to Note:

Information Details:

Dear P5 and P6 FTs and subject teachers,

Last year, we conducted the Student iCON onboarding for our current cohort P5 and P6. While most of them have successfully onboarded Student iCON, we still have few boys from each class who have not completed the onboarding.

We will help these boys onboard Student iCON next week. Please note that Siddiq and DEs will go to P5 and P6 classes during curriculum and get these students to step outside the class and onboard on the spot using our school's acad computers. Do excuse these few boys from your class for about 5 minutes for the onboarding.

Thank you.
