Principal's Update

Dear Colleagues,

Welcome back to week 4 of Term 2 and hope you had a good long weekend. On the staffing front, I forgot to introduce and officially welcome Geraldine Pereira, Choo Watt Kian and Choo Huiyun to our EL and MT departments respectively, as well as Lee Sok Hiang and Goh Heng Chin who have joined our relief staff strength since the end of Term 1. Gowrie Somu has also been officially posted back to us as School Counsellor, and Nicholli Ee as our OM.

The IP heads have also been discussing our Homework practices and policy and it is a good chance to share your thoughts on what is considered homework and how we manage the load for our boys across the various subjects, the feedback we provide and the follow up actions with our boys who are not able to complete them.

For this week, we will be stepping up on our effort to reinforce routines and set the tone with our P3 boys.

As we mark Easter Sunday, it also coincides with Springtime in the northern hemisphere. Iike Spring, Easter is meant to be a symbol of hope, renewal, and new life, which is also symbolises by eggs. So, let us all start the new week with renewed hope and vigour.

Wishing all our Christian colleagues a blessed Easter!

Sharpening our Saw: A World Beyond School

By:  VP

Relevant Levels:  All Staff

Date and Time of Event:  -

Information Details:

Dear everyone,

We are all very familiar with the the saying "It Takes A Village to Raise A Child."

MOE launched a year-long engagement series titled "A World Beyond School", on partnering parents, industry and the larger community in order to enrich our students' experiences and exposure to industries. This is one of the videos from the MOE YouTube channel tha presents an introduction to this.

The video presents highlights of MOE's Parent Support Group Engagement Session held on 25 March, including segments of Minister Chan Chun Sing's opening remarks and Panel Discussion. In attendance were various schools' PSGs, school representatives, parents and leaders from the COMmunity and PArents in Support of Schools (COMPASS).

Both the video "Supporting Our Children for A World Beyond School" and Minister's opening remarks are linked here.

Hope we enjoy the highlight and refresh our perspectives in our work with our students.

Many cheers!
