Principal's Update

Dear Colleagues,

We're halfway through Term 2, and in the midst of our busyness and tiredness, I urge you to say something kind to encourage a fellow colleague, better still, to someone whom we do not usually have a chance to interact with.

I would also like to update that Sheen Yit and Terence will be officially leaving the school at the end of April and I want to thank them for their contributions to the school and wish them all the very best in their future endeavours.

The June calendar is confirmed and if you are planning to travel during the June holidays, you can do so from 3 - 21 June (EXCO from 4 - 20 June).

As shared with the boys this week, I want to share again my favourite quote from our Founder De La Salle "Never speak to anyone except in kindness", which is so important if we want to create a positive school culture among our students and colleagues. No act of kindness is ever wasted and no one is too insignificant to not deserve it. Kindness begins with the understanding that we all struggle. So next week, do not let others walk by without giving them our smiles and kind words.

We rise by lifting each other

~ Robert Ingersoll

Have a great weekend.

Keep Believing and Serving,

Timothy Goh

Stephenian Birthday Programme

By: CCE

Relevant Levels: P1 to P6

Date of Event/Programme/Item: -

Deadline to Note: 29 April 2022

Information Details: Dear teachers, birthdays are times to celebrate birth itself. It is an expression of thanks to God for being born. Every month during FTGP, we celebrate our boys' birthdays and give them a card and badge. Some teachers have also added in little gifts of their own. During those lessons, our boys feel special and see how much those around them love and appreciate their presence.

If you have new pupils in your class and you need the birthday badge to be printed for them, please fill in this Google Sheet by 29 April 2022.

Date of Event/Programme/Item: 20 April 2022

Deadline to Note: Nil

Information Details: Dear teachers, thank you for working together in taking the first step in setting routines right in our classrooms. Please refer to the link for the slides shared during Wednesday PD’s session. You may use them for setting goals and establishing routines with your pupils in class.

Do continue to encourage our young Stephenians to set high expectations of themselves and carry out their duties in the duty roster diligently. We hope that you have already pasted the Summary Sheet in your classes. Do refer to it or remind your pupils to do so. Let's be good role models for our pupils too. The teachers' table must also be neat and tidy for the next subject teacher coming in.

Our OSOs will be entering the classrooms during curriculum time to assess the classroom. Please do not mind when you see them around the classroom to check and conduct assessments.

Let’s all work together to improve the cleanliness of our classrooms as this is one way the boys can show their love for the school!
