Principal's Update

Dear colleagues,

We made it to the end of Term 3, and I want to thank each and every one of you for giving your very best in spite of all the different challenges we grapple with personally and professionally.

This upcoming week will be a short week and I hope that you are also looking forward to the Teacher's Day celebrations. As announced, we have shifted our Teacher's Day lunch to a high tea on Wednesday. A big thanks also to those serving in the Presidential Elections.

As we wind down for the term, and mark Teacher's Day, let us also take the time to thank each other and perhaps even look up our own teachers, and express our gratitude to them who have shared our lives and our heart as a teacher. As I reflect on our quote for the week, can I also encourage you to reach out to a colleague or student whom you may have had a difficult time with this year, just to say "hi" and re-connect with them, and so begin to restore and strengthen the peace we all so innately desire.

Make me an instrument of your peace. Where there is hatred, let me sow love.

~ St Francis of Assissi

Dear everyone,

Hear's a music video (a song we have heard many times) to celebrate our Teachers' Day this week, not just about the sweat, ink and inspiration we endeavour to bring to our boys, but most profoundly inspiring is the mission and hope that we anchor our work on, through all times. We are a fraternity of fellow educators and a community of friends, and we support each other and have each other to depend on in our work of the heart, lift our boys and help them soar. We are Lasallian, we are Lasallians!

Happy Teachers' Day!

We Are Lasallian

We come from all nations, united in our cause
We share a common vision, we see the same bright star
What race or creed it matters not, so tall and proud we stand
We hail you Saint John Baptist, we are Lasallian

Our Founder, Saint La Salle, was born of noble Rheims
He lived a life of privilege, but heard a higher call
It was for the children, the last the lost, the least
For whom he gave up wealth and fame as the first Lasallian

We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands of earth we come
We share a dream, and sing with one voice
I am, you are, we are Lasallian

Our faith, our foundation, no matter how we pray
To the poor we give our service
To brighten up their day
We are a community, each other we uphold
Our motto Signum Fidei
Join us both young and old

We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands of earth we come
We share a dream, and sing with one voice
I am, you are, we are Lasallian

Today the need remains, for men like De La Salle
Continuing his mission
Working for the good of all
We are siblings to each other, across all walks of life
And we shall ever shine like stars through trial by fire and strife

We are one, but we are many
And from all the lands of earth we come
We share a dream, and sing with one voice
I am, you are, we are Lasallian
