Principal's Update

Dear Colleagues,

I hope you had a wonderful Hari Raya celebrating with family and friends or just having a short break. We are already in week 5, and before you know it, the term will end. We will be starting the Teaching and Learning Effectiveness survey over the next few weeks, but this year, we will do it online, and the GO team will help in scheduling classes to go to the computer labs to do the survey. This week, we will also be hosting the Cluster Meeting on Thursday, and there might be a number of school leaders and Supt coming in earlier for various small group meetings.

Thank you for continuing to be vigilant and have high expectations of the boys. Our daily group of boys on Check-In-Check-Out is gradually increasing. As I reflect on the boys' antics and some of their challenging behaviour, I'm reminded of this quote from Dr Seuss...“A life with love will have some thorns, but a life without love will have no roses. To the world, you may be one person, but to one person you may be the world.” There will be thorns among the boys, but for some of them, we may be the only ones who take the trouble to correct them and expect more from them. As we reflect on this week's quote, let's take some time to remind ourselves of the nature of love.

Love is patient, love is kind.

It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.

It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered.

Love never fails.

– St Paul
