Definition:
University spin-offs are defined as registered companies set up to exploit intellectual property that has originated from within the institution.
KAU has a significant 251 Spin-offs.
The university seeks to provide its services to entrepreneurs, students and faculty members through lectures, workshops and providing technical and artistic consultations in the field of entrepreneurship.
It also provides co-working spaces for startups to support the transformation of their ideas into startups. These efforts have crystallized in the past years by incubating and graduating more than 100 startups and incubated companies, and other distinguished companies.
The Center of Innovation and Entrepreneurship continues to cooperate with Injaz Saudi Arabia in providing the Company Program, which enables students to transform their ideas into innovative projects and their own businesses by learning how to establish their own companies. This is in parallel with working to highlight the role of entrepreneurial clubs and their contribution to promoting entrepreneurship through the Entrepreneurship Clubs Empowerment Program at Saudi Universities, in cooperation with the Small and Medium Enterprises Authority.

The Center for Innovation and Entrepreneurship at King Abdulaziz University organized the “Made by My Hands (17)” exhibition for small projects, with the participation of more than 148 students, supported by the Deanship of Student Affairs. The exhibition aims to empower students to transform their innovative ideas into marketable production projects and to promote a culture of entrepreneurship and local manufacturing among youth.
The exhibition featured participation from universities and external organizations from various regions of the Kingdom and attracted more than 33,518 visitors, achieving a satisfaction rate of 98%.
It included 114 student projects in diverse fields such as nutrition, design, arts, printing, and technological innovation, generating revenues exceeding 428,000 SAR.
The exhibition contributed to building a supportive environment for innovation by training students in project management, marketing, and development, and by introducing them to opportunities in freelancing and entrepreneurship, in line with the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 to empower youth and the knowledge-based economy
