15.4.3: Policy/Process/Practice on Hazardous Waste Disposal

King Abdulaziz University is committed to implementing a comprehensive policy for managing hazardous waste, including chemical waste generated from laboratories and research facilities, as well as biological and medical waste. This policy covers all stages of handling hazardous materials—sorting, collection, storage, transportation, and treatment—while adhering to national environmental safety standards. The university collaborates with accredited organizations such as the Saudi Gulf Environmental Protection Company (SEPCO) to ensure the safe and proper disposal of hazardous waste. The policy is supported by official operation and maintenance contracts, documented waste collection and transfer forms, and disposal certificates that illustrate the execution of final waste treatment in a safe and responsible manner.
