Definition:
Goal 9 Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure focuses on the need to build quality, reliable, sustainable and resilient infrastructure to support economic development and human well-being, with a focus on facilitating affordable and equal access for all, promoting inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and achieving increased Significant share of industry, employment and GDP by 2030, in line with national circumstances, in addition to increasing access to small-scale industrial and other enterprises, and exploring how universities drive innovation through linkages with industry.
KAU has been working on:
Developing and ensuring quality, reliable, inclusive, sustainable and resilient infrastructure. This will involve innovation and the creation of new and more sustainable industries, spurred by investments in research and development.

Scientific research, consolidating the principles of creativity and innovation, creating a suitable environment for them, and directing and employing scientific research to produce applied research and innovations to serve the purposes of sustainable development and contemporary societal issues.
