This series is the first level of a series of levels on language rehabilitation through enhancements of Listening, Reading, Speaking, and Writing skills. It was conducted on 22-08-2021, for 3 days.

“Mubeen”: the Initiative to enrich the Content of the Arabic Language

An Initiative to Preserve the National Language

The President of the University, Prof. Abdul Rahman bin Obaid Al Youbi, inaugurated the “Mubin” initiative to enrich the content of the Arabic language in the Arabic encyclopedia Wikipedia, which is affiliated to the Endowment of the Language of the Holy Qur’an at the university, on Monday 8-11-2021, at the University Council Hall.

 The initiative aims to spread the culture of volunteering in enriching the content of the Arabic language in the encyclopedia among young men and girls and developing their skills for work, through a competition that includes a series of workshops and training programs, which will be implemented in partnership with the Baseera Association for Literature and Thought.

The President stressed that the initiative seeks to address the weakness of Arabic content in the Wikipedia encyclopedia, which is due to the lack of volunteers working to enrich the Arabic language content in the encyclopedia, especially that the encyclopedia is the largest provider of Arabic content on the Internet, with more than 147 million monthly visits to Arabic Wikipedia.

He pointed out that the initiative stimulated Saudi youth and the Arab world in general to volunteer to enrich the Arabic content in the Arabic Wikipedia, through several areas: translation, development, authorship, and the realization of the initiative’s strategy to spread the culture of volunteering, in enriching Arabic content among the youth category. It will also help implanting the values ​​of volunteering in them, and providing them with a set of specialized skills and tools that help them work to enrich the Arabic content in the Wikipedia encyclopedia.
