KAU's Emergency and Disaster Center, is an Active member in the Jeddah civil defense committee for rain and flood season and also as an active member in the Makkah region civil defense Committee during national peak times like pilgrimage season and the holy month of Ramadan. The Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research signed a cooperation agreement between the Center of Excellence in Water Desalination Technology at the university and the National Center for Water Efficiency in the University Council Hall.
The Director of the Center of Excellence in Water Desalination Technology explained that the agreement aims to exchange information and data in areas related to activities that fall within the specializations and scope of work of the two parties and organize joint workshops and training courses between the two parties, in addition to cooperation in the field of enabling the use of water-saving systems, tools and accessories and in the field of technical consulting to raise the efficiency of infrastructure to improve water efficiency and rationalization and achieve water sustainability, and cooperation in the field of social responsibility programs and community awareness, to rationalize water consumption and in initiatives related to water efficiency and rationalization and awareness of water consumption in the field of work of the two parties, as well as cooperation in the field of knowledge transfer and exchange of experiences between the two parties and in research and development in the field of innovative technologies for water efficiency and rationalization.(click here)

College of Maritime Studies and CMA CGM Company sign a cooperation agreement in the fields of research, training and consulting
The College of Maritime Studies signed a cooperation agreement with CMA CGM Shipping Company on November 19, 2023, to strengthen collaboration in research, training, and consulting. The agreement supports joint work in occupational safety, health, and environmental management, and includes student exchanges, external funding, and training programs for maritime professionals. KAU–Halliburton Collaboration
King Abdulaziz University signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Halliburton to strengthen cooperation in the energy and mining sectors and to support the development of national talent in Earth Sciences and energy-related fields. The agreement focuses on providing specialized hands-on training for students, enabling access to advanced laboratories for research projects, and supporting applied scientific research. As part of its national and international efforts in climate action, King Abdulaziz University participated in the #COP16_Riyadh conference, reaffirming the role of scientific research in combating desertification. In the #GreenZone, the university showcased a wide range of research projects, programs, and community initiatives aimed at developing sustainable environmental solutions. Notably, KAU researchers and faculty members contributed to Saudi Arabia’s climate strategies by delivering two specialized lectures titled: “Technological Innovations for Sustainable Land Management and Resilience in the Face of Drought” and “The Role of Plant Cover in Reducing Carbon Emissions: Strategies for the Arabian Peninsula.” Furthermore, the university participated in the #RiyadhInternationalHumanitarianForum by presenting a lecture titled “Climate Change and Its Impact on Humanitarian Work,” addressing the effects of climate change on humanitarian operations and highlighting pathways for enhanced collaboration.(click here)
