King Abdulaziz University has a policy on preventing and reducing marine pollution of all kinds, including pollution from land-based activities.

 The “Don’t Throw It, Endow It” initiative, launched by the Scientific Endowment at King Abdulaziz University , is one of the university’s leading environmental programs aimed at reducing plastic, paper, and electronic waste through sustainable recycling practices and community awareness campaigns.
Since land-based plastic waste is one of the main sources of marine and coastal pollution, this initiative effectively contributes to reducing marine pollution by preventing plastic materials from reaching marine ecosystems.
Thus, it represents a sustainable institutional policy adopted by the university to minimize waste generation, reduce marine pollution, and support the achievement of the UN Sustainable Development Goals related to life below water.
