The “Ministry of Civil Service” clearly defines all criteria, related to the pay scale starting from the field domain, to the degree, to salary scales, incentives, bonuses, raises, and allowances are defined in the List of Financial Rights & Benefits (2011)-Page 9-Article 6.
KAU, as a Public University, applies all wages and scales that are defined by the Ministry of Civil Service in the Wages Protection Program where it has been also stated in the Labor Law, on page 46, under Article 14, that:
"Subject to any procedures or arrangements stipulated in Wages Protection Program, the worker's wages shall be paid in the official currency of the countries in the dates specified and deposited with the workers' accounts of the banks accredited in KSA".
Furthermore, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development is pouring continuous efforts into its Wage Protection Program, which has reached phase 14, where it is implementing a compulsory wage protection program, starting from February 1, 2020, on all facilities with more than 20 workers.
The program aims to monitor wage disbursements to all workers in private sector establishments (Saudis and expatriates) and to build a database that contains updated information on the payment of wages of workers in the private sector and to be used in regulating the labor market and measuring the extent of the establishments ’commitment to paying wages on time, and reducing wage differences Between enterprises and employment in the private sector.
It is worth noting that this program targets the working group, the owner of the facility, banks, and government agencies represented in the Ministry of Labor and Social Development, the General Organization for Social Insurance, and the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency.
