10.6.11 Anti-harassment policies
King Abdulaziz University demonstrates an effective commitment to combating violence and all forms of harassment through a combination of awareness programs, counseling services, and organizational policies related to student behavior, in addition to cooperation with security and community authorities. Among the university's most prominent efforts:
1. Awareness and advocacy campaigns, events: The university organizes awareness events, courses and forums on combating violence, including events such as the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women and participation in community awareness initiatives, which promote awareness and encourage a culture of reporting and support
2. Counseling and Psychological Support Services: The University Counseling Center and the Health Promotion Center provide counseling services, student support, and initial response to cases of psychological harm or violence, helping victims to obtain specialized psychological care and counseling.
3. Organizational Frameworks and Student Supervisory Authorities: The Deanship of Student Affairs has behavioral regulations and controls (Regulations for Controlling the Behavior of Male and Female Students) that regulate university behavior and specify disciplinary measures for violations that may include harassment or harassment on campus. These regulations are a legal basis for following up on complaints and taking legal action.
4. Partnerships and cooperation with security and community authorities: The university has participated in joint initiatives with security and service agencies (such as awareness engagements with the area police and family protection associations), which enhances prevention and response mechanisms and provides relays for victims to the competent authorities when needed
King Abdulaziz University affirms its full commitment to the implementation of the provisions of the Law on Combating the Crime of Harassment issued by Royal Decree No. (M/96) dated 16/9/1439 AH, which aims to protect human dignity and preserve his privacy and personal freedom guaranteed by the Basic Law of Government, and ensure a safe environment that respects Islamic and societal values.
