King Abdulaziz University, through the Faculty of Marine Sciences, seeks to support national efforts in preserving marine ecosystems and biodiversity through research and field projects that promote the sustainability of natural resources and mitigate the impacts of pollution and environmental degradation.
Among the most notable partnerships and activities in this field are:
1. Collaboration with the Royal Commission for AlUla, in initiatives focused on protecting ecosystems and enhancing biodiversity sustainability in environmentally sensitive areas.
2 . Memorandum of Understanding between King Abdulaziz University and SAIL Environmental Services Company, which includes conducting scientific research and field surveys related to the marine environment, contributing to a better understanding of ecosystems and strengthening their sustainability, in addition to exchanging scientific and technical expertise between both parties.
Center of Excellence for Salmon Production
King Abdulaziz University contributes to the preservation of ecosystems and biodiversity through applied projects that promote environmental sustainability, such as the Salmon Production Center previously highlighted under Sustainable Fisheries.
The project represents a model for achieving balance between food production and the protection of water resources and ecosystems, supporting the University’s commitment to the goals of sustainable development and the responsible use of natural resources.
