King Abdulaziz University is committed to promoting and supporting academic freedom guided by Islamic and national values, considering it a cornerstone of scientific and research excellence. The University has a policy aimed at fostering the responsible exercise of academic freedom among faculty members, researchers, and students, within the framework of Islamic values and national regulations. This ensures the development of independent scientific thought, encourages creativity and innovation, and upholds academic justice, without violating regulations or compromising religious and national principles.

The Code of Professional Ethics for Faculty Members and Equivalent Positions at King Abdulaziz University also emphasizes respect for academic freedom, as follows:

• • • On page 19, in section "6 - Colleagues and Administration," the code states, "Respect the right of colleagues to express themselves and the academic freedom guaranteed by higher education regulations." This highlights King Abdulaziz University's adherence to the higher education regulations that guarantee academic freedom and the right to free expression.

    • Additionally, on page 26, under item "10 - Supervision of Theses/Assessment," the code affirms, "Respect the researcher's freedom of opinion and methodology, encouraging them to express their scientific identity in their research based on scientific principles."

    • Furthermore, on page 23, item 9, "Scientific Research and Scientific Production," the code reaffirms the university’s commitment to supporting and encouraging any work that enhances scientific research and ensures the freedom of research in universities and research centers.
