11.2: Support of arts and heritage

KAU supports local culture and heritage in many aspects, one of which is providing free public access to all university buildings and facilities that fall under this title, like Library, Green Areas, Theater, Museum, etc. KAU believes that this will empower and enable cultural works. KAU's support of Arts and Heritage is further conveyed in the organizing and participation in different arts and heritage events.

It should be noted that such aspect has been highly negatively impacted by the Corona Virus Pandemic which led to restrictions on public/group events.

11.2.1: Public Access to Buildings

KAU provides free public access to different types of its buildings, monuments, theater, as well as other landscapes of cultural significance to its local community, NGOs, public and private sectors.

11.2.2: Public Access to Libraries

KAU provides free public access to all of its libraries, be it the children library, researchers library, and other types of libraries, where the available resources like books, publications, etc. are available to be used. Most of these resources supports people with disabilities.

KAU provides free public access to its museums, exhibition spaces, and other works of art and heritage to interested people from the community and other organizations.

KAU is committed to avail free public access to its open spaces, green spaces, playgrounds, and others.

11.2.5: Arts and Heritage Contribution

King Abdulaziz University continuously contributes to local arts, in terms of public performances of university theatre groups, students' clubs, and public clubs, both, in the form of ad-hoc and ongoing programmes.

KAU delivers projects to record and preserve intangible cultural heritage such as local folklore, traditions, language, plays, etc.
