The Labor Law does not distinguish between different categories of employees and there are no specific regulations for managerial or executive-level employees, except in relation to working hours and rest periods. The Labor Law forbids a gender pay gap and provides equal pay when a man and a woman perform the same job.
KAU, as a public university, follows the salary pay scale that is set by the government without any differentiation regarding the gender of the applicant faculty or staff.

The Ministerial decree number 39860, issued in 2018, decided the following important rules and regulations regarding pay scale equity. The Ministry stressed that any enterprise that violates the provisions of the regulation will be subject to the penalties imposed by the Labor Law and relevant ministerial decisions, stressing that it will not be negligent in following up the commitment of the establishments to organize and implement the legal procedures in their right.

"It is forbidden to discriminate between genders' wages in jobs which have similar profiles".
The stressing on this equity is highlighted in the amendment that the Ministry of Labor and Social Development has amended to the National Labor Law (1977) to explicitly highlight the fact that all employees, irrespective of their gender, age, religion, disability, or other, have equivalent rights in having jobs and being treated equally within the workplace. Furthermore, the Ministry of Human resources and Social Development initiated an implementation guide for the Labor Law where it states on page 51, under the sub-title, Work Environment, Article (34), “a. General Controls”
