King Abdulaziz University is committed to supporting the mental health of its members, including students, staff, and faculty, through specialized centers such as the University Medical Services Center. Among the clinics offering these services are:
Psychiatry Clinic: 1 clinic operated by a psychiatrist.
Psychology Clinics: 2 clinics operated by psychological specialists.
According to statistics provided by the center for 2024, the number of beneficiaries from the psychiatry clinics at the main center and the female campus reached 1,637 .
All mental health services are provided to beneficiaries, including students, faculty members, and administrative staff, free of charge and without any financial compensation.
The university also offers psychological counseling through the University Counseling Center (Link)
which is one of the active centers at King Abdulaziz University. It focuses on guiding university students in various psychological, social, academic, and professional areas. The center provides diagnosis of issues, solutions, and guidance through a team of consultants and specialists, utilizing various methods in preventive, advisory, and therapeutic aspects.
The university, represented by the University Counseling Center in the Deanship of Student Affairs, achieved first place according to the annual evaluation by the National Center for Mental Health Promotion for 2022, recognizing its performance in promoting mental health among Saudi universities.

On October 10, 2024, King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Deanship of Student Affairs in collaboration with the Human Capacity Development Center and the Health Promotion Center, organized an event to celebrate World Mental Health Day under the theme “Mental Health in the Workplace.”The program included seminars and workshops on the importance of mental health in the workplace and ways to promote it. It also offered free specialized psychological consultations on stress management and achieving balance between work and mental well-being.The event witnessed a large attendance from students and university staff, and accredited certificates were awarded by the Human Capacity Development Center to the participants.(link)
On November 16, 2024, the Department of Psychiatric Nursing, in collaboration with the Quality and Development Unit at the College of Nursing, King Abdulaziz University, organized a workshop titled “Managing Workload and Psychological Stress in the Workplace.”The workshop targeted faculty members and administrative staff at the university.
On October 10, 2024, the Department of Mental Health at the College of Nursing, King Abdulaziz University, in collaboration with the Al-Nahda Model Neighborhood Center, organized an event in celebration of World Mental Health Day titled “Occupational Burnout and Its Relation to Mental Health.”

On World Mental Health Day, October 10, 2024, the Health Promotion Center at King Abdulaziz University published an awareness message emphasizing the importance of mental health, stating that it is not a choice, and that acknowledging one’s feelings and seeking support are courageous steps toward a more balanced and happier life.
