The CECCR specializes in studies of several aspects of climate of Arabian Peninsula, in particular, Saudi Arabia.
CECCR has produced a study titled “Rainwater harvesting possibility under climate change: A basin-scale case study over western province of Saudi Arabia” that predicts that intense rainfall and flash floods will increase in a warmer world, and therefore the Saudi government should invest in larger rainwater harvesting capacity to help combat the lack of available potable water. The government heavily relies on such studies that address solutions to the lack of water resources in the Kingdom because of the arid nature of the country.
