KAU, and as part of its responsibility towards its local community, hosts ad hoc outreach activities to Improve and Promote lifelong learning.
King Abdulaziz University continues to strengthen its role in providing community-oriented educational outreach beyond the university campus. Through diverse programs, field initiatives, and interactive learning activities, the university aims to expand access to knowledge, promote inclusive education, and support the development of cognitive, cultural, and social skills among different community groups. These initiatives reflect the university’s commitment ensuring that quality educational experiences reach broader audiences outside the academic environment.
The outreach programs implemented during 2024 included:
1.Early Childhood Education Outreach – Jeddah Book Fair 2024
KAU participated through an interactive booth offering engaging activities for children, promoting early literacy, learning through play, and community engagement in supporting children’s cognitive and social development.
2.Noor Al-Qur’an VR Initiative – Innovative Learning Experience
An immersive virtual-reality experience introducing children and families to Quranic stories in an innovative educational format, combining technology with cultural learning at the Jeddah International Book Fair 2024.
3.School Awareness Visit – College of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences
Faculty members and students visited a secondary school to introduce the five rehabilitation specializations through hands-on demonstrations and educational activities, enhancing students’ understanding of health-related academic paths.
4.Geological Field Training – Faculty of Earth Sciences
More than 200 students participated in an outdoor geological field trip to Hada Al-Sham, applying scientific concepts, conducting field measurements, and engaging in real-world learning outside the university environment.
5.Community Participation in Serving Pilgrims – Hajj Season 2024
University students and staff contributed to community service efforts during the Hajj season, providing support to pilgrims and participating in nationally coordinated outreach initiatives that strengthen social responsibility and humanitarian engagement

King Abdulaziz University, represented by the Department of Early Childhood Education at the Faculty of Human Sciences and Design, participated in the Jeddah Book Fair 2024 through an interactive booth that offered engaging educational activities for children.

nnovative Learning Initiative – “Noor Al-Qur’an VR” Experience (2024)
King Abdulaziz University introduced the “Noor Al-Qur’an VR” experience at the Jeddah International Book Fair 2024, offering children an interactive journey using virtual reality to explore Quranic stories, starting with “The Story of the Cave.”
The initiative combined technology and faith to enhance innovative learning and promote educational values through immersive digital experiences.

Among them are students and staff from King Abdulaziz University, participating in initiatives aimed at promoting a spirit of giving and community service. This awareness event, organized by the Department of Speech, Language, and Hearing Disorders at the Faculty of Medical Rehabilitation Sciences, aimed to highlight the challenges faced by individuals with hearing impairment during Hajj and Umrah. The session provided practical solutions and guidance to support inclusive religious practices for all community members.

Geological Field Training – Faculty of Earth Sciences
The Faculty of Earth Sciences trained over 200 students through a geological field trip to Hada Al-Sham, focusing on identifying rock formations, conducting field measurements, and applying geological concepts in real-world study environments.
