The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is making significant efforts to enhance its position in the fields of science and technology in order to expand its economy, address nationally important issues, and improve the quality of life for its people. This is driven by the desire to shift the Kingdom's economy away from reliance on natural resources towards an innovation-driven economy, with strong knowledge-based industries that foster the development and utilization of human talent within the Kingdom. This effort includes the creation of an effective national innovation system that strategically integrates research, development, education, and economic institutions in a coordinated and productive manner.

On December 25, 2023, the Vice President of the University for Educational Affairs, Prof. Adel Abu Zanadah, met with a delegation from the Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources, led by the Deputy Minister for Human Capacity Development, Eng. Fares Al-Saqabi. The two sides discussed ways to collaborate and partner in developing human resources and enhancing human capacity in the industrial and mining sectors.

On December 17, 2032, His Excellency Dr. Rami Al-Rumaih, President of the Public Transport Authority and Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistics, met with students from King Abdulaziz University who participated in the second edition of the Transport Challenge. On December 5, 2023, His Excellency Prof. Amin Yusuf Naaman, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research, met with His Excellency Eng. Ahmed Al-Duwaimer, Deputy Governor for Groundwater and Surface Water Affairs at the Saline Water Conversion Corporation. The meeting focused on exploring areas of collaboration in environmental and technical studies and consultations related to groundwater and surface water, as well as exchanging expertise between the two parties.
