From AHS to UK

Katie Creamer

is ready for the next chapter.

Katie Creamer has big dreams ahead of her as the next few years unfold, from going to the University of Kentucky for nursing to what she dreams of her life being in the up and coming years, she is striving for greatness. Creamer says, “I am going to the University of Kentucky and majoring in nursing. After I get my nursing degree I plan to work as a nurse in a children's hospital for a year or two and then go back and get my doctorate in nursing and eventually become a nurse anesthetist.”

Creamer sees her future filled with having her doctorate and traveling around. “ I see myself possibly living by the beach somewhere and finishing or done with getting my doctorate in nursing practice and becoming a pediatric nurse anesthetist. I also hope to see myself checking off more places on my travel bucket list.”

Well why is she so enamored with working with children? Creamer states shes always just had a passion for it. “ I have always wanted to go into the medical field ever since I was very little and that goal has stayed consistent my whole life. “

Just because Creamer is excited for this new path in life she's still upset about leaving the greenhouse. “It is very bittersweet, I am so excited to move on to the next chapter and go to college but also sad to be leaving all of my closest friends and my family.” Her favorite memories from high school are from the friendships she's made and all of the classic high school experiences like football games and extra curriculars, like the gymnastics team.

Speaking of highschool, Creamer says shes been impacted by Mrs. Lindly. “All of my teachers at AHS have each had their own impacts on me in various ways. However, I would say that Mrs. Lindley has probably been the most impactful teacher. Even though this is my first year having her, she has had a huge impact on me. She has taught me that it is not always about your grade as much as it is about your growth and progress in the class. This has greatly changed the way I view school and taught me not to stress as much about my grades all the time.”

Katie’s advice to the younger students in the building as she leaves is to make habit of good time management skills, she reminds us of our need to pace ourselves efficiently. Her final message as she leaves proceeds as follows, “  I am so grateful for all of the friendships and bonds that high school has given me. I am excited to start the next chapter of my life.” Her life motto is from one of the biggest musicians of this generation, from Mrs. Taylor Swift herself Creamer remembers to not think too hard about the past. “You can’t have a better tomorrow if you keep thinking about yesterday.” - Taylor Swift
