Maddie's Spotify wrapped

My top artist this year was Sublime, which makes a lot of sense as I tend to put it on whenever I do yard work in my garden or when I am lifeguarding and my boss gave me use of the speakers. However, my favorite artist would have to be denn. which surprised me when they didn't make it on my wrapped as I have spent months listening to everything they drop.

My top songs were usually on repeat while I was in the gym or painting the mural I've been working on at home, as they were on the playlist I called "Mural." While the songs tend to jump from one genre to another they surprisingly fit well together, at least in my opinion, they do. Out of all my top songs and artists, I'd have to say Rainbow Kitten Surprise has to be my all-time favorite. They have made my Spotify wrapped four years in a row and always seem to pop back into my music taste during the winter.  Ive been lucky enough to see them in concert and they always hold a special place in my heart as RKS's "All that and more (sailboat)" was the first song I learned on guitar.

Even if you don't enjoy my music taste all that much, I do ask you to check out denn. They are one of the best upcoming artists working hard to expand their listeners.

Ava's Apple Music Replay

I'm a huge fan of music. Whenever I'm bored, I throw on my headphones. Out of each part of my Replay, I would say the Top Artist is the most fitting for me. I adore SZA; I could listen to her at any time of any day. Her newest album, "SOS", came out around this time last year. It was so good that I got a poster for it in my room. My Top Song "Ivy" by Frank Ocean was expected. For those of you who follow @blonded on Insta, I freaked out when he posted the clip of a new song. He hasn't dropped an album since his 2016 "Blonde" (my favorite album of all time), so I'm--among many others--in desperate need. Honestly, I think anyone could find a Frank Ocean song they enjoy. I was shocked by my Top Album: "For All The Dogs." While I enjoyed a couple of songs from here, I didn't love the album as a whole. "Virginia Beach" and "Bahamas Promises" were two of my favorites. A couple of these songs are on my workout playlist, so maybe that's why it came up so often. I would also like to note that the beginning of "Virginia Beach" is a clip from one of my favorite Frank Ocean songs, "Wiseman." Just saying. Overall, I was pretty proud of my Replay this year. If I had to make Replay predictions for next year, I would guess my love for SZA and Frank Ocean will not fade. Hopefully, I'll spread that love of those two talented people to everyone else's Wrapped.

Maddie's Spotify Wrapped

It may not seem like it, but throughout 2023 I really expanded my music pallet. I listened to a wide range of artists, including: Zach Bryan, Frank Ocean, The Weeknd, SZA, Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Bieber, Kendrick Lamar, Noah Kahan, Sam Hunt, and so much more. I really wish I had different top songs, but I'll just blame my early 2023 self for that! Here's what I think about my top artists.

My top artist was Taylor Swift - definitely makes sense! Over the summer I listened to her concert’s setlist non-stop. I started listening to her more than I did before, and I can’t say that I regret that! The fact that three out of the five of my top songs are hers says enough. I live for “Style” I listened to it like there was no tomorrow. I love how Taylor has a song for every single moment in your life. It’s easy to relate to her music, and that’s what I like about her. My second artist was Morgan Wallen. A lot of people don’t know this, but I’m actually a really big country fan. I started listening to country music a lot more over the summer, and Morgan has by far been one of my favorite country artists. I’m really glad that I started getting into country music, because it’s introduced be to a lot of new artists, like Zach Bryan and Thomas Rhett. I’m really disappointed that none of Wallen’s songs made it onto my top songs list. I was really hoping that they would, considering that I listened to a range of them over time. My third artist was Niall Horan. If I’m being honest, I have absolutely no idea how he got to be one of my top artists. Don’t get me wrong,  I think that he has great songs, but I feel like I didn’t listen to his music as much as I listened to other artists. My fourth artist was Harry Styles, and when I saw this my jaw dropped. I don’t ever listen to Harry Styles. I like three of his songs, one being “Matilda” but I really didn’t think that I listened to him that much. Personally, I’m not a big Harry Styles fan, so I wish that someone else was in his place. My last artist was One Direction. I had a huge One Direction obsession when I was younger, but I was shocked to see that they were one of my top artists. I have some of their songs in my playlists, but not that many. I didn’t realize or think that I listened to them that much.

Overall, I think my Spotify Wrapped is okay. I wish it were different in some places, but I'm already for 2024's Spotify Wrapped, and I can't wait to see how my music taste will change!

Harrison's Apple Music Replay!

In 2023, I aspired to expand and listen to more music than ever before. I listened to 375 total artists but only one came on top; Taylor Swift. Like many, Taylor Swift was my most listened-to artist. Due to the release of two new re-records "Speak Now (Taylor's version)" and "1989 (Taylor's Version)", I definitely listened to a lot of Swift's music this year. Seeing her live at the Era's Tour was definitely a life-altering experience. As for my top album, it makes complete sense. When "SOS" by SZA came out back in December of 2022, I don't think it left my rotation for a solid five months. Lastly, out of the 2,286 total songs I listened to in 2023, "Cherry-Coloured Funk" by the Cocteau Twins came out on top. Similar to "SOS", this song being my most played song makes sense. This song has such a unique and feeling and vibe towards it. It's one of my favorite songs ever. A close second was "A&W" by Lana Del Rey. Overall, I am pleased with my wrapped, I think it is a pretty accurate display of what I played most this year.

I just wrote about my top 10 favorite albums of the year in a separate article, click here to read it!

Willa's Wrapped

In 2023, the minutes I listened to Spotify for equated to a little over 26.5 days straight. Of this time, I spent 2,831 minutes (~2 days) listening to my favorite, Harry Styles. However, I was surprised that none of his songs showed up on my top 5. My top 5 are all from my playlist titled "Good Morning USA," which I listened to on repeat every morning while getting ready and driving. My brother introduced me to my 5th song, "Big Black Car" by Gregory Alan Isakov, and it has become 1 of my favorites this year. I would definitely recommend you give it a listen if you haven't heard it before. My brother, Isak, also got me into my 5th artist, Panic! at The Disco, when I was probably too young to be listening to them, but I was also too young to even understand anyways. Since then, P!ATD has always been something I've listened to. Moving up the list, Taylor Swift has always been one of my favorite artists, and she did not disappoint this year. Moving to #3, I really got into Ariana Grande this year, as reflected in my top songs. At #2, Cigarettes After Sex has very calm music, and many of their songs were on my sleep playlist that I would leave running all night. Overall, I think my top artists make a lot of sense, and my top songs are a little confusing at first, but with my morning playlist in consideration, they do make sense. I'm looking forward to next year's Wrapped!

Shane's Spotify Wrapped

This year I listened to over 19,000 minutes of music from over 33 genres with my favorite being rock or metal music. My most listened to artist is Sabaton, they are a Swedish heavy metal band that covers unknown stories. Surprisingly the band that I would call my favorite is The Happy Fits is not listed along with their songs such as "Heart of a Dancer," or "Mary." Overall though, I tend to either listen to more heavy metal or rock-based music, to indie music that is more relaxed in nature, it all just depends on what I'm doing that day. For instance, when I'm working, l'll listen to rock or heavier music to keep me moving, but when I am at home or driving I tend to listen to more relaxing or even music that you can dance to, and I tend to play these songs on repeat until I get sick of them.

Out of all of my music though I would have to say that my favorite is going to have to be from the concentrate album by The Happy Fits called Heart of the dancer. It's one of those songs that you can relax while listening to, sing along with it or even dance to it.  It is simply one of those songs that if you listen to the lyrics can really tug at your heart strings.

Charlotte's Spotify Wrapped!

My #1 artist this year was Taylor Swift, which was unsurprising. I was in her top 1% of listeners and 3 out of my top 5 songs were all written by her: "the 1", "Clean" and "Picture To Burn". I love Taylor Swift and listened to her music the most in June. I listened to 58,952 minutes of music (this is equal to 40 days nonstop), 625 artists, 1,304 songs, and 38 genres. My top song was "Nobody Gets Me" by SZA. I played it a total of 86 times this year. I thought that my top song would have been "Clean" by Taylor Swift, but, when SZA's album "SOS" came out this was my favorite song for months on end. I listen to music all the time, especially when doing homework, when at school, and during the summer. It was shocking to me that my top genre was rap since only 1 of my top 5 songs was a rap song. Taylor Swift will definitely be my top artist again next year and my prediction for what my number #1 song will be is "You're Losing Me"... by Taylor Swift. In general, I am happy with my Spotify wrapped and also surprised by some aspects of it. I hope that next year I can get into Taylor's top 0.5% of listeners!

Lana's spotify rap! :)

TOP SONGS

My top song was  "Jealous" by Nick Jonas, thanks to my good friend Cali. Every  time she would get into my car it would be played, so now every time I hear it I think of her. It was our summer song.

My second song was "Vienna" by Billy Joel.  Growing up I often times listed to him with my dad. He was always tell me that this was "our" song and that it reminded me of him.

My third song was "In The Night" by The Weeknd. I played this song almost every time I was in the car.  It just always ave me a good vibe especially at night in my car driving around with my friends.

My fourth song was "Style" by Taylor Swift. This song surprised me being my fourth and not first. This song has been my favorite song for years now and  I feel it has been played a lot more than the others.

My last song is "Meltdown" by  Travis Scott (feat. Drake) I was a little surprised that this song made my top five, however: I may have listened to this song a lot but not the whole song, only Drakes part...

TOP SONGS

My top artist  was Drake :) I love Drake.  Whenever my brother used to drive me around he would only play Drake, therefore, he is the one who introduced me to the king and I will forever be grateful.

My second artist was Taylor Swift.  I grew up listening to her, as many others have, which just shows truly what a great artist she is. She has a song for almost every situation in your life. I've seen her a few times in concert and can't wait to see her again next year for The Eras Tour!

My third artist is The Weeknd. I have always really liked The Weeknd but Harrison was the one who really helped me find my love for him. Harry would always send me songs by The Weeknd and tell me how he thinks I will really like this song, he was always right. Thank you Harrison :)

My fourth  artist is Morgan Wallen. This may seem like a switch up but I do listen to him as well as other country stars more often than it seems.  I as honestly surprised when there wasn't a Morgan Wallen song in my top five.

My fifth artist was Nick Jonas. The reason he is on here is because of how much I listened to "Jealous".
