We will start studying the 1950s when we return for a little over a week. I love studying his decade and period for many reasons, but at the same time realize it would have been tough to live in as well. There is much to learn in politics and culture from this era. There will be notes, but also some music, activities, and film footage used to study the information.

MONDAY 4/6 Make your prediction about if our society is more accepting of people who are unique compared to back in the 1950s? Explain your answer on where you feel we are as a society in accepting others.
TUESDAY 4/7 What was the Berlin Airlift? Explain and write 3 facts about the airlift. You can use the reading on p 540-541 that also includes the Primary Source Section.
WEDNESDAY 4/8 Who was the leader of the Chinese Revolution and what leader and group did the Communists overthrow? Where did they escape to? (p.542)
THURSDAY 4/9 Look at the cartoons on p. 544 and answer the questions under Analyzing Visuals
FRIDAY 4/10 Look at p. 552 Primary Source and answer the two questions under Analyzing Visuals.
