This week we will jump into the study of WWII. We will start by briefly touching on some of the issues and conflict that took place during the Roaring 20s and the Great Depression, but for the sake of time jump into studying the conflicts of WWII. We will focus on the events of Pearl Harbor, the Holocaust, and the decision to use bombs with specifically the atomic bombs. There will be some time looking up information in the library. We will also continue to take time to read the books you have selected.
MONDAY 4/3--Spring Break
TUESDAY 4/4--Start new news sheet-clip from CBS Sunday Morning on U-Boats, brief summary of the 20s and the great Depression, start looking at WWII with the events of Pearl Harbor (use Pearl Harbor clips with explanations) and guided notes, reading time
WEDNESDAY 4/5--News sheet, Holocaust activity where groups look at the types of people sent to the camps and what happened--why this even occurred???, reading time
THURSDAY 4/6--News sheet, research on the hidden heroes of the Holocaust and why the US did not get involved immediately, reading time
FRIDAY 4/7--News sheet, D-Day Invasion, victory in Europe, clips from Saving Private Ryan and Story of US, reading time
