We will take a look at the history of immigration and how it has impacted us as a country. A variety of resources will be used and we will also take a look at where we are today with policy and plans. Also while we study Ch 8 we will use the historical fiction film titled Far and Away. It combines the information from chapters 6,7, and 8 into a story where you can see the characters experience our country at the turn of the century as immigrants. There will be a writing assignment given with the film.
MONDAY 9/4--LABOR DAY
TUESDAY 9/6--News sheets, go over Ch 8 section 1 with notes and power point, prepare for film starting Wednesday with project description (letters home)
WEDNESDAY 9/7--News sheets, Far and Away with assignment being done
THURSDAY 9/8--News sheets, Far and Away with assignment
FRIDAY 9/9--News sheets, finish Far and Away, begin section 2, assignment on letters home due Monday.
