You are about to embark on a semester of learning how to understand what your American government does for you and how you can become a part of the system. Many of my seniors over the past have always been honest that they did not necessarily think they would be interested in this course, but when it was completed appreciated how the news, elections, and the leaders now make more sense to them. For you to enjoy and get the most of the class you should try to be engaged through our discussions and by absorbing the events in the news. When you learn that government does impact aspects of your live you will realize why it is so important for to you to learn before graduating high school. So get ready for a trimester filled with learning about the government, but also the events going on in our country and world today.
MONDAY 11/10--Introduction to our classroom with Butterfly Story, brainstorm activity-how does government impact you, introductions activity, daily dose of government (DDOG), hand out books.
TUESDAY 11/11--VETERANS DAY, no school
WEDNESDAY 11/12--DDOG, Information sheets to be filled out, begin Ch 1 with worksheets to assist learning, news
THURSDAY 11/13--DDOG, Start going over Section 1 with Barney and the Preamble. Schoolhouse Rock.
FRIDAY 11/14--Finish sections 2 and 3, watch Preamble a couple times--with Leo. Ch 1 quiz will be Monday with Preamble needing to be memorized by Tuesday at the latest.
