We will start the week by finishing Chapter 1 with a test on Tuesday. As we finish that chapter we will further explore the roles of citizens in our community. On Wednesday we will start with a combination of Chapters 2 and 3. This unit will focus more on the history of our Constitution and how it has evolved over the years with its principles.
MONDAY 3/5--Daily News, School House Rock, Section 3 of Ch 1 with the roles and duties of citizenship, 60 Minutes clip on Childhood Poverty to show how citizens can be involved in an issue that impacts their community.
TUESDAY 3/6--Daily News, Ch 1 Test with Preamble memorized, after test reflect on positives and negatives of our Terre Haute community, after all are done with the test we will watch a promotional video on TH, reflect on community resources and how students can get involved.
WEDNESDAY 3/7--Daily News, brief history of how we got to the creation of the Constitution with lecture notes, start Chapter 2 breakdown of the Constitution and how it is organized, principles explained in groups/partners
THURSDAY 3/8--Daily News, worksheet on looking up amendments with historical predictions, history of the amendments explained with the worksheet, some clips to explain
FRIDAY 3/9--Daily News/Opinion write up, informal ways that Amendments are changed, Kahoot review, test on Monday
