This week we will focus on the history of voting, who makes up the electorate, and who actually votes at the polls. Be sure to take note of key terms and ideas for test. We will break this unit up into two smaller tests or quizzes along with assignments that will be done in class.
MONDAY 9/4–Daily Work, finish 9/11 unit with lesson on prejudice, museum, and culture. Students will complete worksheets to turn in.
TUESDAY 9/5–Daily work, begin Voting Unit, start with Rock the Vote clip, notes with class, use History of Voting clip with students, news if time allows
WEDNESDAY 9/6–Daily work, explain gerrymandering, voter qualifications, and controversies over the years (sample literacy test)
THURSDAY 9/7—Daily Work, Voter Behavior and Voting Trends with notes, more Rock the VOTE clips and SNL clip on Undecided Voters
FRIDAY 9/8– Daily Work, Quiz over History of Voting and Trends, start the differences in political parties-guided notes on spectrum which will be collected
