This week we will start studying the Legislative Branch of Government with Congress. You will not only learn about how to become a leader in this branch, but also who our current leaders are and what they do for you at the Capital. This branch is important to you because they make the laws and share in other functions of our federal government.
MONDAY 4/6--DDOG, Ch 10 Worsheets, Start to go over Section 1, short clips from Congressional Websites
TUESDAY 4/7--DDOG, Ch 10 Section 2 and 3 with notes/lecture, short clips on Congress
WEDNESDAY 4/8--DDOG, Ch 10 Section 4, review information about our current leaders
THURSDAY 4/9--DDOG, Ch 10 Quiz
FRIDAY 4/10--DDOG (collect), Congressional website activity--finding information
Daily Dose of Government for the Week
Monday 4/6--Share one government related experience you had over Spring Break. (discussion, news story, observation, etc.)
Tuesday 4/7--What are ways to get in touch with political leaders if you have an issue or concern? If you do not know the answer, how would you begin to look for those resources or opportunities?
Wednesday 4/8--What are the requirements/qualifications you want to see in people who represent you in offices like Congress? Why are those qualities important?
Thursday 4/9--Does your elected Congress represent you and your views well? Please explain. If you are unable to answer this how can you find out this information?
Friday 4/10--CURRENT EVENT or Reflection
