We will discuss current events and topics daily in all of my classes, but especially in government and current issues. I will encourage students to make attempts to listen or read the news whenever possible. It is important that they not only follow the news, but be aware of the soutces in which they obtain their information. While we all might have our favorite places to look or listen to the news, it is important to see the events or ideas from multiple avenues. I try to do that not only as their teacher but, also as a citizen. Media has changed so much in my lifetime and I am sure we still have many changes ahead. News over the years has become more entertaining and exciting, but there is a lot to consider about the sources. I try to ask students to consider if the news or information they are getting is fact, opinion, or biased. By getting news from multiple sources they will have a better understanding of what I ask. I have made a list of links or sources below. I am not necessarily promoting one over the other, although I have my own favorites. I have listed the information in alphabetical order so the students can make their own decisions on what to follow.
