This week will focus on the early events of the 20th Century and the Progressive Era. This is an important era where changes in our country and government that occurred still impact us today. We will use a variety of resources as we prepare to take a look at WWI when we are done.
MONDAY 3/6--News sheet, finish the video Then and Now from The Century with questions and brief discussion throughout
TUESDAY 3/7--News sheet, timeline research on the Progressive era using provided website and sheet with questions. we will use the sheet for the next two days for notes and lecture along with primary sources and film clips from Story of US.
WEDNESDAY 3/8--News sheet, see above, pictures from Jacob Riis, Great Migration and Race Riots clip from Chicago, finish reading from The Jungle, show literacy tests that were used during Jim Crow era of the South
THURSDAY 3/9--News sheet, see Tuesday with focus on Woodrow Wilson and the suffrage movement, clips from Iron Jawed Angels, build up to WWI--this will be collected
FRIDAY 3/10--News sheet (Collect), The Century with guided notes and questions using Seeds of Change--we will collect this and have a quiz next week over Progressive Era.
