I have learned that in life it can be important to learn to be flexible. This year has definitely been one of those times with our weather closings and delays. Many of you have schedules that have been impacted by this and I am trying to be flexible with last weeks assignments and work. Please let me know if you have questions about how I figured you last grading period grades when I show them to you this week. I encourage you to be diligent about looking at the lessons on this site and the grades via Engrade over the next 6 weeks, especially if this weather continues. We will move quickly through this next chapter and I may allow use of some resources on the quiz over Ch 12.
MONDAY 1/27--DDOG, Go over Sections 1 and 2 in Ch 12 as we learn about how Congress works. If time allows complete sections 3 and 4 in worksheet packet.
TUESDAY 1/28--DDOG, Finish going over Chapter 12 Sections 3 and 4. Tonight is the State of the Union. While we will be watching it in class I encourage you to watch the nightly news or commentary surrounding the big government event.
WEDNESDAY 1/29--DDOG, Watch State of the Union with commentary on what you hear addressed. You will see that President Obama will not only reflect on the past year, but also look ahead to the future. Please make note of issues you support or are against along with any questions you may have that come up. I also want you to carefully watch the body language/non-verbal responses of the members of Congress and others in attendance. The commentary will be collected for a grade.
THURSDAY 1/30--DDOG, Chapter 12 Quiz. When done begin working on letter to State or US leadership. Handout assignment and prep for computer lab on Friday.
FRIDAY 1/31--DDOG, collect DDOG for the week. Computer lab looking up issues and writing political leaders. Due at the end of the hour.
