We will be continuing our study of the role of government for our country by looking at the events surrounding the September 11th attacks. It is important that you do your best to be here during the lessons. I use a lot of outside resources and visuals during this unit although the power point will be available on the site. My students often tell me this is one of their favorite things they learn about during government so I am hopeful that it will want you to learn more about how the branches of government interact with each other to solve a crisis in our world.

NOTE>>>This unit may go one day longer, depending on your involvement and discussion. If that is the case we will do Friday's work and activities on Monday of next week.

WEDNESDAY 9/4-- CNN Remembers and readings about 9-11.
THURSDAY 9/5--September 11 writing assignment provided. Conclude 9-11 Unit.
FRIDAY 9/6--September 11 Writing due, Democrat and Republican brainstorm activity in class with groups. What makes a Democrat or Republican? sheet given to groups to decipher and prepare. If time allows, provide reading time for Chapter 5. Daily Dose of Government DUE
Of course we will continue to address current events throughout the lessons and week. Be sure to watch or listen to the news when you have the opportunity. Pick up the newspaper and read the headlines. Talk to people around you about what is going on in the world.
