This week we will be studying the events of the Holocaust using a variety of materials in addition to the books. We will read and watch primary sources in addition to an activity that looks closely at children of the Holocaust. Towards the end of the week we will start the Ch 14 looking at WWII. We should conclude this chapter just before spring break.
MONDAY 3/16--Daily Work, Go over notes from book and do group activity on children in the Holocaust. This is where you will be assigned a person from the time period and based on what you learned make predictions about what happened to them during this time in history. Groups will share he stories and predictions to further learn about the many that died and survived the policies of the Nazis in WWII. We will also have a writing assignment about the people where you write a journal entry or letter as I you were that person.
TUESDAY 3/17--Daily Work, Start film Survivors of the Holocaust produced by Stephen Spielberg. Students are to write down several of the more memorable stories that were shared in the film. Read chapter from Eva Kor's book about Auschwitz. Assign Ch 14 Section 1 and 2 to read at home.
WEDNESDAY 3/18--Daily Work, Conclude Holocaust information with film and notes turned in for a grade. Begin going over Ch 14 Section 1 in class. Suggested reading section 3 at home.
THURSDAY 3/19--Daily Work, Sections 2 and 3 notes with propaganda pictures and film clip of 3 Little Pigs. Suggested Reading Section 4 of Ch 14.
FRIDAY 3/20--Daily Work--DUE TODAY, Propaganda poster assignment, Section 4 Notes. Poster/social media assgnment due MONDAY

We will continue studying WWII this week by looking at the Home front and major events of WWII. REMEMBER the test over Ch 14 will include the Holocaust information from last week as well. You will be using worksheets to help you with the reading and notes are provided, but I highly encourage you to red the entire chapter while pacing yourself daily. I will provide tips on suggested reading.
12/8--DW, Begin going over notes on Ch 14 Section 1, allow time for work on section 2 and 3. It is due tomorrow to be collected. Suggested reading Sections 2 and 3 of Ch 1.
12/9--DW, Sections 2 and 3 notes with propaganda pictures and film clip of 3 Little Pigs. TURN IN Sections 2 and 3 Worksheets. Suggested Reading Section 4 of Ch 14.
12/10--DW, Propaganda poster assignment, Section 4 Notes. Poster due tomorrow.
12/11--DW, Section 4 notes with clips from Band of Brothers and Saving Private Ryan on DDay, may continue on Friday. Turn in propaganda posters. Suggested reading Ch 14 Section 5.
12/12--DW, Turn in DW TODAY. Handout Study Guide-will have a little time on Monday to work on it, Finish film clips, ad watch news if time allows. Ch 14 Test will be Tuesday.
